To find g(-4) we need to replace x by -4 on the function g(x) as:

g(x) = 3 - x

g(-4) = 3 - ( - 4)

g(-4) = 3 + 4

g(-4) = 7

At the same way, to find f(1), we need to replace x by 1 on f(x) as:

f(x) = - 4x - 5

f(1) = - 4 ( 1 ) - 5

f(1) = - 4 - 5

f(1) = -9

Finally, g(-4) + f(1) is:

g(-4) + f(1) = 7 + ( - 9 ) = - 2

Answer: - 2
