i) A point P with coordinates (a, 0), where a≠0 is always in the x-axis.

Examples: (15, 0), (-3, 0), (89,0) ...

ii) A point Q with coordinates (0, b), such that b≠0 is always in the y-axis.

Examples: (0, 5), (0, -2), (0, 500)...

iii)

P(a, b)∈ I Quadrant if a>0, b>0 Examples: (2, 5), (4, 13), (3.2, 16)

P(a, b)∈ II Quadrant if a<0, b>0 Examples: (-5, 4.1), (-3.72, 8), (-1, 1)

P(a, b)∈ III Quadrant if a<0, b<0 Examples: (-8,-9),(-7.4,-45),(-96,-63)

P(a, b)∈ IV Quadrant if a>0, b<0 Examples: (94,-15), (8,-3), (4.6,-19)

Conclusion: If one of a or b in the point P(a,b) is 0, then P is on one of the axes (or both, if a=0, b=0)
