A legend is usually passed from one generation to the next. A legend is usually told by mouth and never recordered while a story may be made up or written.

A legend is A story about either people, places, or events written in history, giving them an element of truth and often making them more interesting. Legends also often teach the reader a moral or a lesson within them. Hope that helps!
