Susan is tiling her kitchen floor with square tiles. She wants 4/10 of the square tiles to be blue. If she uses 12 blue tiles, how many tiles will be used to cover the floor? Draw an area model to help solve.

If 4/10 of one whole = 12, then 1/10 of one whole = 12÷4 = 3

If 1/10 of one whole represented by 3 tiles, then 10/10 which is one whole is
10×3=30 tiles
