If the ph of a certain solution changes from 8 to 9, what happens to the hydroxide ion concentration?

pH_1 = 8 \\ pH_2 = 9


pOH_1 = 14 - 8 = 6 \\ pOH_2 = 14 - 9 = 5


OH^-_1 = 10^(-6) M


OH^-_2 = 10^(-5) M

Ratio =
(10^(-5))/(10^(-6)) = 10

so, OH- concentration will become 10 times the initial one
