The slope between two points is given by:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Plugging the values given we have:

\begin{gathered} m=(-3-1)/(2-4) \\ m=(-4)/(-2) \\ m=2 \end{gathered}

Therefore the slope is 2.
