we have the equation

3x+(1)/(2)(2x+6)=6x+1

step 1

Apply distributive property second term left side

\begin{gathered} 3x+(1)/(2)\cdot2x+(1)/(2)\cdot6=6x+1 \\ \\ 3x+x+3=6x+1 \end{gathered}

step 2

Combine like terms left side

4x+3=6x+1

step 3

subtract 4x both sides

\begin{gathered} 4x+3-4x=6x+1-4x \\ 3=2x+1 \end{gathered}

step 4

subtract 1 both sides

\begin{gathered} 3-1=2x+1-1 \\ 2=2x \end{gathered}

step 5

Divide by 2 both sides

\begin{gathered} (2)/(2)=(2x)/(2) \\ 1=x \\ x=1 \end{gathered}

the answer is option B
