The eaning of October si $738.5

She gets paid $14 an hour and 1.5 times that for each hour above 40 hours.

She worked 48.5 hours.

Then:

For the first 40 hours she gets paid the regular $14

40\cdot14=560

And she worked 8.5 hours overtime, this means she gets paid 1.5 times $14.

1.5 · $14 = $21

Then for the 8.5 overtime hours:

8.5\cdot21=178.5

The total earning is the sum:

560+178.5=738.5
