A training field is formed by joining a rectangle and two semicircles, as shown below. The rectangle is 87 m long and 70 m wide. What is the length of a training track running around the field? (Use the value 3.14 for pi. and do not round your answer. Be sure to include the correct unit in your answer.)

Given:

A training field is formed by joining a rectangle and two semicircles, as shown below.

We will find the length of a training track running around the field.

The length = the sides of the rectangle with a length of (87 m) + the length of the two semicircles

The length of the two semicircles = the circumference of the circle of a diameter of 70 m

So, first, we will find the circumference of the circle

Radius = half of the diameter = 70/2 = 35 m

The circumference = 2πr = 2 * 3.14 * 35 = 219.8 m

So, the length of the training track running around the field =

219.8+87+87=393.8

So, the answer will be:

The length of the training track = 393.8 m
