Intentional fires can cause high damage to forests, such as loss of habitat and individuals from many endemic species. But it can also affect the air quality, due to the polution it causes not only to the affected area, but also to surroundings. Besides that, smoke from forest fires can reduce the intensity of light captured by plants and negatively affect photosynthesis and increase the amount of carbon dioxyde in the spot where the fire happened and surroundings. This way, a disbalance in the environment happens, affecting not only plants, but also the well being of animals living in the affected areas.
