In mathematics, particularly progression, the median refers to the middle data when arranged from the least to greatest value. Suppose these three consecutive integers are x, y and z. The median is y, z is the greatest value and x is the least. When x*y*z, the product is y. Simplifying the equation, y cancels out because they appear in both sides of the equation. The result becomes xz=1. This means that the value of the least integer is the reciprocal of the greatest number. In other words, x = 1/z.
