One mole of oxygen gas has a mass of 32.0g. To calculate the mass of one mole of oxygen gas you must first consider the chemical formal of oxygen gas which is O2. Because there are two oxygen atoms present in oxygen gas you must multiple the atomic mass of oxygen by two. The atomic mass of oxygen is 16. 16 x 2 is 32.
