A reader needs to make inferences when reading fiction in order to fully understand the story meaning

If this is a true or false question, then I believe the correct answer is true.
If you make inferences while reading, that means that you interpret the text which if in front of you. And the more you analyze it, the easier it will be for you to fully understand the meaning of what the author intended to convey.
