The centrois of the triangle is X. We woud apply the theory about the centroid which states that the centroid divides each median into two segments whose lengths are in the ratio, 2:1. The longest segment is the one nearest the vertex. Looking at the triangle, we can see that the segment, BX is nearest the vertex. Thus, it is the longest one. The shorter one would be XY

The ratio of BX to XY is 2:1

If BX = 10, then

XY = 10/2 = 5

XY = 5
