Fist you need to combine like terms...///////// -5x+4
Then make it equal to 0
-5x+4=0
next you move the 4 to the other side///// -5x=4
after that you divide and you are left with

The variable is x, and it is multiplied by -5, so the coefficient of the variable is -5.
