A claim is a statement or assertion of something true, but without any evidence or proof that would support the statement. On the other hand, a counterclaim is a claim that is made to oppose or counteract a particular claim. The evidences that a writer should use to support a claim or counterclaim are as follows: facts, statistics, examples and quotations.
