What is the reason for why Liberia, in West Africa not associated with a europian power on this map? What's the reason for this

The answer is: it wasn't established with a thought of integrating it into the country or extracting resources from it, as with the other colonies. Instead, it was thought of as a country for African Americans: freed slaves from the US.
