$x+y=17\\ (x+3)/(y)=1\\\\ x=17-y\\ x+3=y\\\\ 17-y+3=y\\ 2y=20\\ y=10\\\\ x=17-10\\ x=7\\\\ \boxed{(7)/(10)}$
