The poem "Litany" is different from other love poems that use metaphors because is mixes metaphor and free verse. When reading the poem you enjoy meaningful metaphors from the the very beginning and suddenly there comes a free verse instead of a portion of figurative language. It seems like author changes the pace of the poem which is meant to make reader slow down and dip into the sense of the words.
