Find how many kilometers are in a mile and set it up next to your answer to multiply and cancel out the kilometers (this will leave you with miles per hour). Then do the same thing but set it up with a seconds per hour (which is 3600 seconds per 1 hour) and cancel out the hour unit again. You’ll have a big answer so divide the numerator by the denominator and you’ll get the answer for m/s
