(1) A square has an area of 240cm squared. What is the length of each side? Leave in simplest radical form.

(2) A cube has a volume 2160cm cubed. What is the length of each side? Leave in simplest radical form.

(1) A of square =
l²

if Area = 240 cm²
then
l² = 240 cm²

⇒ √(
l²) = √(240 cm²)


l = √(16 × 15)


l = 4√15



(2) V of square =
l³

if Volume = 2160 cm³
then
l³ = 2160 cm³

⇒ √(
l³) = ∛(2160 cm³)


l = ∛(216 × 10)


l = 6 ∛10
