When the slopes are equal, then we have parallel lines (which is not the case)
When the product of 2 slopes = -1 ( or one slope is the reciprocal of the other with different signs)
m₁ = 3 & m₂ = -1/3
(3) x (-1/3) = -3/3 = -1, then the 2 lines are perpendicular
