The book Night starts with Wiesel in Sighet in 1941. The narrator is Eliezer Wiesel, an Orthodox Jewish teenager. He tells us that Judaism is a big part of his life. He spends his free time discussing the Kabbalah and his days studying the Talmud.
Night narrates the experiences of the author in the Nazi German concentration camps at Auschwitz and Buchenwald during the Second World War.
