It's definitely 4. The boy went from stealing to helpful and useful.

Option 4 is the correct answer.

In the end of the story the boy realizes that he shouldn't steal from anybody and the woman helped him understand in a strict way that it's wrong. I think she helped him because, she too, had a similar childhood or memories of it.
