at a local gym you can either pay $90 for a monthly pass then pay $4 each time you go to the gym or you can pay $13 each time you go with no monthly past fee if you are going to go to the gym 8 times in a month which option is better?

Plan A includes a monthly fee of $90 and $4 each time you go.

Plan B doesn't include a monthly fee, but you have to pay $13 each time you go.

Let's call x = 8, that is, you go 8 times to the gym. Let's express each Plan

\begin{gathered} A=90+4x \\ B=13x \end{gathered}

Let's replace x = 8

\begin{gathered} A=90+4\cdot8=90+32=122 \\ B=13\cdot8=104 \end{gathered}

Hence, plan B is better in this case, it costs less than plan A.
