x + (x-12) = 38
2x = 50
x= 25
Another number is 25-12 = 13

so ... the numbers 25 and 13 added equals to the sum of 38 ... when you subtract 13 from 25, your difference is 12. Therefore, your answer is 25+13= 28 and 25-13= 12 .
