The table shows the outputs, y, for different inputs, x: Input (x) 1 2 3 4 Output (y) 5 5 7 9 Part A: Do the data in this table represent a function? Justify your answer. (3 points) Part B: Compare the data in the table with the relation f(x) = 2x − 8. Which relation has a greater value when x = 4? (2 points) Part C: Using the relation in Part B, what is the value of x if f(x) = 34? (5 points)

A. yes, this is a function because there is no repeating x values. There can be repeating y values, just not the x ones. <==

B. Table :
u already have the output when x = 4....(4,9)....the output(y) = 9

relation :
f(x) = 2x - 8....when x = 4
f(4) = 2(4) - 8
f(4) = 8 - 8
f(4) = 0

the table has the greater value. <==

C. f(x) = 2x - 8...when f(x) = 34
34 = 2x - 8
34 + 8 = 2x
42 = 2x
42/2 = x
21 = x <==
