Hello,
We start with 6x-4=8.
To solve single-variable equations like this one, we want to isolate the x by moving all of the other numbers to the other side of the equation.
This gives us
6x=8+4;
6x=12
Now, to find x, we want to just have one x on the left side instead of six, so we divide the equation by six to find that
6x/6=12/6
x=2
See you soon :-)
