The slope of a line is 1/2. What is the slope of a line that is perpendicular to this line? Type a numerical answer in the space provided. Do not include spaces in your answer. If necessary, use the / key to represent a fraction bar and only type improper fractions (no mixed numbers)

perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes. So if 1 slope has a slope of 1/2, then its perpendicular line has a slope of -2/1 or just -2

Answer: -2

Explanation:

Given : The slope of a line is
(1)/(2).

We know that the product of two perpendicular lines is -1.

Let m be the slope of line that is perpendicular to given line.

Then,we have :-

m*(1)/(2)=-1\\\\\Rightarrow\ m=-2

Hence, the slope of a line that is perpendicular to this line =-2
