MCH I antigens are present in all nucleated cells and in platelets. The one responsible for the identification of self and nonself is HLA. MHC alleles are inhereted from the mother and father and are conveyed uniformly. So as rejection immunologically during a transplant will not happen, MHC antigens must be matched.
