The equation represents the number of bags of sand (x) and bags of mulch (y) that can be bought for $105.

3x+7y=105

You have to determine how many bags of mulch (value of y) can be bought if zero bags of sand are bought.

To determine the number of bags of mulch, replace the equation with x=0 and solve for y:

\begin{gathered} 3x+7y=105 \\ 3*0+7y=105 \\ 7y=105 \\ (7y)/(7)=(105)/(7) \\ y=15 \end{gathered}

When no bags of sand are bought, you can buy 15 bags of mulch for $105. (Option C)
