Read the following quote translated from the Napoleonic Code:

A wife, although non-communicant or separate in property, cannot give, alienate, pledge, or acquire by free or chargeable title, without the concurrence of her husband in the act, or his consent in writing.

A) The wife was responsible for her husband’s protection.

I think is C because the wife would have to get consent.

C) Women were considered inferior to men.

During the 1800s, when the Napoleonic code was released, women weren't considered equal to men and didn't have the same rights as them. The quote stated illustrates the subordination that females had towards their husband since they weren't granted the right to freely decide on matters that were related to them or affected them in any way.
