Let x be the number of boys in the school the ratio of gilrs and boys in this school is:

(120)/(x)

but we know that in the school the ratio girls to boys is 3:2; which means that the ratios have to be equal:

(120)/(x)=(3)/(2)

Solving for x we have:

\begin{gathered} (120)/(x)=(3)/(2) \\ x=(120)/((3)/(2)) \\ x=(120\cdot2)/(3) \\ x=(240)/(3) \\ x=80 \end{gathered}

Therefore, there are 80 boys in the school.
