we have the equation

4x+3y=12

this is a linear equation

step 1

Find out the y-intercept

(value of y when the value of x is zero)

For x=0

4(0)+3y=12

3y=12

y=4

the y-intercept is the point (0,4)

step 2

Find the x-intercept

(value of x when the value of y is zero)

For y=0

4x+3(0)=12

4x=12

x=3

the x-intercept is the point (3,0)

step 3

graph the equation

plots the intercepts, join them to draw the line

see the attached figure

Using the given equation, (a) find the intercepts of its graph and(b) use the intercepts-example-1
