PRACTICE ANOTHER ASK YOUR TEACHER MY NOTES 12. [-13 Points] DETAILS WANEAC7 3.5.099. The oxygen consumption of a bird embryo increases from the time the egg is laid through the time the chick hatches. In a certain species of bird, the oxygen consumption (in milliliters per hour) can be approximated by (t) = -0.0012 +0.13822 - 3.12t + 16.27 (25

s = 900 - 140t - 16t^2

Period [1,4] average velocity

Velocity at t = 4

Period[1,4}

s when t = 1 ==> s = 900 - 140(1) - 16(1^2) = 900 - 140 - 16 = 744

Distance = 900 - 744 = 156

Velocity = 156 ft/s

s when t = 4 ==> x = 900 - 140(4) - 16(4^2) = 900 - 560 - 256 = 84

Distance = 900 - 84 = 816

Velocity = 816/4 = 204 ft/s

Average of 156 and 204 ==> (156 + 204)/2 = 360/2 = 180

Instant velocity at t=4 ==> 204 f/s
