Dusty planted a rectangular garden that had a perimeter of 36 yards. the length of the garden is 6 feet longer than twice the width. what is the width of the garden in feet?be sure to convert the yards to feet.

P = 2(L + W)
P = 36 yds (if 1 yd = 3 ft, then 36 yds = 36 * 3 = 108 ft)
L = 2W + 6

108 = 2(2W + 6 + W)
108 = 2(3W + 6)
108 = 6W + 12
108 - 12 = 6W
96 = 6W
96/6 = W
16 = W......width = 16 ft

L = 2W + 6
L = 2(16) + 6
L = 32 + 6
L = 38 ....length = 38 ft
