Determine the number of x-intercepts that appear on the graph of each function f(x)=(x+1)(x-3)(x-4)

To figure this out, you set each of the x's to zero.

x+1=0, x-3=0, x-4=0

then, for each one you solve for x

x=(-1), x=3, x=4

these are your x-intercepts for the function f(x).
