How can the side lengths of a triangle be used to classify it (Triangle Classification Theorems)

We know that a triangle has three sides

Let these sides be a,b,c and let c be the longest side.

Then we can classify a triangle as acute, obtuse or right on the basis of following results:-

1. Acute triangle

If


c^2then the trianlge is acute.<p>2. Obtuse triangle </p><p>If </p>[tex]c^2>a^2+b^2

then the triangle is obtuse.

3. Right triangle

If


c^2=a^2+b^2

then the trriangle is right angle triangle.
