Two kids are liars, three can only say the truth. Jane: " Julia is only a liar, if John is telling the truth." Julia: "If Joey doesn’t lie, then either Jane or John do." Joey: " Jack lies, as does Jane or Julia." John: "If Julia is telling the truth, then Jane or Joey do as well." Jack: "If you round up Jane, Joey and John, you will have at least one liar." The compulsive liars are_____

The compulsive liars are Jane and Jack. From the statement above, lying to them is nothing. They don't feel any guilt or conscience in doing it. Compulsive liars are those people who lies all the time or making lies are their habit. They find comfort in doing it and does not care of the consequences.

Answer:

Julia and Jack

Explanation:

The statement says Jack lies as an absolute and when jack speaks he says "if you round up Jane, Joey, and John one is a liar" which implies none of them are liars.

And that gives you the three people who tell the truth and leaves Jack and Julia as the liars.

You can reason it by taking a statement that certainly said one person is lying or telling the truth and you can check to see if it makes sense with the rest assuming they are telling the truth.

We can start with Joey (who said Jack was a liar). That means we know one liar and somebody is telling the truth. Lets look at Jack's statement and can conclude that Jane and John also weren't liars (since that would've made him truthful).

Now I know one liar and 3 that are speaking the truth. That leaves Julia as the second compulsive liar.

Therefore, Jack and Julia are the compulsive liars.
