Answer: Independence movements in Africa started to be important once the conclusion of World War II, since most European powers were weaker.

Explanation: In 1951, Libya won its independence from Italy, followed by Tunisia and Moroco in 1956, becoming independant from the France colonies. Ghana got its independence in 1957 and by 1975 did several of Portugal's colonies such as Angola, Mozambique, São Tomé Cape Verde, Príncipe and Guinea-Bissau. Zimbabwe was independant until the year of 1980. Despite of those independency movements, African state was still controlled by racial segregation, specifically a white minority system known as apartheid until the year of 1994.
