What is the slope of a line that runs parallel to y = x + 14?

Y = x + 2

Both lines need to share the same slope (x) to be parallel.
The Y-Intercept does not matter unless required/specified.

The slope of the line that runs parallel to y = x + 14 would be 1. Because the new line would be parallel, the slope stays the same.
