Please assist with following question 1. Are both gametophyte and sporophyte generations clearly visible? 2. What role does the vascular tissue play? Name two types of vascular tissue. 3. Are roots or rhizoids present? In which generation do they occur? 4. Is water required for transport of sperm to the egg? 5. What are sori? 6. What is a prothallus? 7. Identify the structure labelled A in the diagram. 8. Identify the structure labelled B in the diagram.

0. Sporophyte is clearly visible while gametophyte isn't, due to its very small size.

,

1. The vascular tissue plays the role of transporting water and minerals from the roots to upper parts of the plant, such us the leaves, (,xylem,); while the ,phloem ,transports the photosynthesis products (for example sugars) towars the bottom of the plant.

,

2. Roots ,are present in the sporophyte while ,rhizoids ,are present in the gametophyte.

,

3. No, the transport of the sperm to the egg occurs through airophilic spread.

,

4. Sori ,are a structure for reproduction that are found in the abaxial side of leaves of the sporophyte, inside them a group of sporangia produces haploid spores that will give a gametophyte.

,

5. A ,prothallus ,is the gametophyte generation young organism, that will become a mature gametophyte.

,

6. The structure labelled A is the ,cuticle ,on the axial side of the sporophyte leaf.

,

7. The structure labelled B in the diagram is the ,prothallus,.
