move decimal 2 places to the right
y=mx+b
3.40= 3.3 x
solve for x
3.40/3.3=3.3x/3.3
103=x

Answer: A. 103 minutes

Explanation:

Given: The rate of long-distance phone calls on your phone = 3.3 cents per minute

Phone bill amount = $3.40=340 cents [Since $1= 100 cents]

Let m be the number of minutes m of long-distance calls you made.

Then the equation to find the number of minutes of long-distance calls you made is given by :-

\text{Rate}* \text{Number of minutes}=\text{Phone bill}\\\\\Rightarrow3.3m=340\\\\\Rightarrow\ m=(340)/(3.3)=103.03030303\approx103\ \text{minutes}

Hence, the number of minutes of long-distance calls you made = 103 minutes.
