If the sound is increased in intensity by a factor of 100,000 , the change in decibels could be found with this formula:

ΔL = 10 log (x) ----------- x is the intensity factor

ΔL= 10 log (100,000)

ΔL= 10 Log (10^5)

ΔL= 50 dB
