what is the probability that you rolla 1, 2 or 3 on the first die and roll a 5 on the second die?

There are six sides to a die

\text{Probability}=\frac{\text{Favorable outcomes}}{\text{Total outcomes}}

Favorable outcomes (1,5) (2,5) and (3,5) = 3

Total outcomes = 6 x 6 =36

\begin{gathered} \text{Probability}=\frac{\text{Favorable outcomes}}{\text{Total outcomes}} \\ \text{Probability}=\frac{\text{3}}{\text{3}6}=(1)/(12) \end{gathered}
