Given:

6)

4y^3+2(y^2-4)

For y = -3,

\begin{gathered} 4y^3+2(y^2-4)=4(-3)^3+2((-3)^2-4) \\ =4(-27)+2(9-4) \\ =-108+2(5) \\ =-108+10 \\ =-98 \end{gathered}

Answer: -98.

7)

2(x^2+6)+3(x-1)

For x=5,

\begin{gathered} 2(x^2+6)+3(x-1)=2(5^2+6)+3(5-1) \\ =2(25+6)+3(4) \\ =2(31)+12 \\ =62+12 \\ =74 \end{gathered}

Answer: 74
