Jada is making lasagna and pizzas for a large party.Her lasagna recipe call for 1 1/4 cups of tomatp paste, and her pizza recipe uses 1/2 cupb of tomato paste per pizza. She will double her lasagna recipe and make 5 pizzas. Write and evaluate an an expression for how many 3/4-cup cans of tomato paste she need in all.

Answer: Required expression is,

(2* 1(1)/(4)+(5)/(2))/((3)/(4))

Approximately 7 cans are required.

Explanation:

Given,

The number of cups required for lasagna recipe =
1(1)/(4)

After doubling lasagna recipe, the number of cups required =
2* 1(1)/(4)

Also, the number of cups required for each pizza =
(1)/(2)

If the number of pizza = 5,

Then the number of cups required for 5 pizza =
(5)/(2)

So, the total cups required =
2* 1(1)/(4)+(5)/(2)

Hence, number of '3/4-cup cans' of tomato paste

=\frac{\text{Total cups required}}{(3)/(4)}

=(2* 1(1)/(4)+(5)/(2))/((3)/(4))

=(2* (5)/(4)+(5)/(2))/((3)/(4))

=\frac{(10)/(4)+\fra{5}{2}}{(3)/(4)}

=((10+10)/(4))/((3)/(4))

=((20)/(4))/((3)/(4))

=(20)/(3)

=6.667\approx 7
