According to science, Earth is about 4.5 billion years old and written human history extends back about 10,000 years. Suppose you represent the entire history of Earth with a 100-meter-long timeline, with the birth of Earth on one end and today at the other end. What distance represents 4 billion years? How far from the end of the timeline does written human history begin?

Answer:

4 billion years- 88,88 meters

10,000 years- 2,22*10^-7 meters

Explanation:

In order to calculate this you just have to do a rule of three, when 4.5 billlion is 100 meters, and we just have to calculate how many meters are 4 billion and 10,000 meters:

(4,5)/(100) =(4)/(x)\\ x=(400)/(4,5)\\ x=88,88 meters

Now, 4.5 billions are in stadar form: 45,000,000,000 so we will use this to calculate with the rule of three of 10,000 years:

(45,000,000,000)/(100) =(10,000)/(x)\\ x=(1,000)/(45,000,000,000)\\ x=2,22*10^-7 meters

So those two would be the answers.
