Atraeus is solving the quadratic equation by completing the square.

7x2 – 14x + 6 = 0

7x2 – 14x = –6

A(x2 – 2x) = –6

What is the value of A?

–14
2
7
6

Answer : 7

Step-by-step explanation:

In completing method square the first we do is making the coefficient of
x^(2) as one. so in order to make the coefficient as one we divide each term by 7 in given equation
7x^(2) -14x +6 =0

Since, 7 is the coefficient of
x^(2)

Now, if we take 7 as common on left hand side of an equation
7x^(2) -14x=-6 then it becomes
7(x^(2) -2x)=-6.

Now, we can compare the equation
A(x^(2) -2x)=-6 with
7(x^(2)-2x)

Hence, we get the value of A=7.

OK so the value of A would be 7 because as you can see from the second to third step, Atraeus factored out 7 from both terms!
