In Churchill's famous speech "Their finest hour", he says that the Great Britain would be far more capable of meeting another invasion than the last time, due to the large armada the Germans would find right when they got there and also because another invasion would require a large scale transportation and the maintenance of supplies, which would make it difficult for the enemy to attend it.
